Customer notice: Possible disruption to emails

Nottingham-based project Make to Make needs your vote to win National Lottery funding

Nottingham-based… Make to Make is calling for your vote to secure £44,523.75 of National Lottery funding as part of The People’s Projects 2018.

Their project, TIES IN NOTTS, which is based in Nottingham and runs the free Lego Club and The Craft CafĂ© activities in the city, is one of five groups in the Central East region in the running for a share of up to £150,000 of funding.

Now in its 13th year, the Big Lottery Fun, ITV, and The National Lottery are teaming up to give the public a chance to decide how National Lottery funding should be put to good use in their local area.

Designed to celebrate some of the incredible projects the Big Lottery Fund has supported over the past year, 95 community-based schemes are now shortlisted across the UK. In each region, the three with the most public votes will receive grants of up to £50,000. This will help them to continue their work to improve local people’s lives.The entire amount up for grabs across the UK is a life-changing £3 million.

On TUESDAY 17TH APRIL, MAKE TO MAKE will showcase its project, TIES IN NOTTS on ITV regional news at 6pm.

To be in with a chance of winning, MAKE TO MAKE is calling on viewers to support its bid. Voting opens at 9am on Monday 16 April at www.thepeoplesprojects.org.uk.

Are you a film buff aged 18 - 25?

Do you enjoy sharing your love of film with others?

Apply now to take part in 28 Times Cinema at the Venice Film Festival!

28 TIMES CINEMA* invites young European film lovers to apply for the chance to attend the prestigious Venice Film Festival 2018 as one of 28 Jury Members (one participant per member state of the European Union) for the Giornate degli Autori selection.

 

Since 2010, this fantastic initiative from Europa Cinemas - in collaboration with the LUX Prize (European Parliament) and Giornate degli Autori - has given young film enthusiasts from all over Europe the opportunity to attend the Venice Film Festival as members of the Giornate degli Autori Jury, and Ambassadors for their countries.

 Who can participate?

Film lovers aged between 18 and 25 with:

  • Excellent English skills (reading, written and spoken) to actively take part in the discussions around the films with film professionals
  • Strong writing abilities in order to contribute to articles and blogs

 

How do you apply?

Send your completed application form to info@broadway.org.uk by Friday 19 April.

 

If you are shortlisted by us you will then be asked to come to Broadway to record a video selfie for submission as part of your application on Thursday 26 April.

 

What happens if you’re chosen as an Ambassador?

As an Ambassador, you will:

  • Attend the Venice Film Festival from Tuesday 28thof August to Sunday 9thSeptember 2018, with free travel and accommodation provided and your daily costs covered.  You’ll also be given an exclusive festival accreditation, which gives priority access to the Giornate degli Autori screenings.
  • Be a Jury Member for the films competing for the Giornate degli Autori selection
  • Watch all the films presented at the Giornate degli Autori and at the LUX Prize 2018 Competition
  • Take part in round tables, discussions and debates with filmmakers and other guests,
  • Contribute to a blog, which will be specifically developed for this event and to the media partners websites
  • Write a daily postcard for Europa Cinemas’ social networks
  • Be an active Ambassador for the Lux Film Prize during the events organised after Venice in your country.

Salary: £21,757 - £24,488

Hours: 37.5 hours full-time

Broadway is based in Nottingham’s Creative Quarter, a leading independent cinema and creative media centre aiming to inspire creativity and a lifelong love of film.

We are now looking to recruit a Finance Project Coordinator to be responsible for all financial aspects of Broadway’s funded cultural, educational and talent support projects and be an active member of the small and busy finance team, contributing to the organisation’s monthly accounts processes.

Strong financial and administrative skills are essential, and would suit someone with a previous background in a not for profit/arts/project background.

Closing date: 12pm, Friday 20 April

Interview date: week commencing Monday 30 April
